Take my advice and DON'T dye it!

Use Food colouring.

It is has vibrant colours and is easy to apply, with the added bonus that it will wash out.

dye your hair 1 week before the big day

then after dying. use only conditioner.

it will bring out the color!!

Go to your nearest Sally's. Grab a bottle of 40 developer or a bleach kit and a bottle of manic panic dye.

Goodness I suggest you get one of the spray in fun hair colours try a fancy dress shop one in our town centre sells that sort of thing. Or if you are in the UK try Boots or Superdrug as I know they also do them . They will last the evening and then you won't have a disaster.

Because you have dark hair you will need to bleach it in order for any "fashion" colour to stick. If you don't bleach it pretty much nothing will happen to the colour of your hair!!

If you don't want an all over colour then just bleach sections of your hair.

Fashion colours fade really quickly so if you do it the week before you will have to re-apply the green or what ever colour you choose again before your formal. If you have long hair i suggest you just use extensions you can get clip in ones or if your braver glue but this will cause less damage to your hair.
